Vision

Mission Statement:
“To mobilise young Queenslanders to make a difference through serving others.”

Since 1997, the ‘National Student Leadership Forum on faith & values’ (NSLF), a four-day event held annually in Canberra, has inspired and challenged a significant number of young people from around Australia and the South Pacific to love and serve others. The aim of this Forum has been to bring together Australia’s current leaders, from the fields of politics, business, community and sport, with the leaders of tomorrow.

The Queensland Servant Leadership Forum (QSLF) is the vision of a group of previous attendees of the National Forum who have been particularly inspired by this message of serving the greater community through leadership, and who wished to bring this message to Queensland on a larger scale. The Queensland Forum has been able to make the Forum concept and experience more accessible to a wider range of young Queenslanders, including from rural, indigenous and minority backgrounds. The Queensland Forum is run separately to the National Forum with a distinctively ‘Queensland’ style, however, the same values and objectives are upheld by both Forums.

In 2008, the organising team of QSLF decided that to fulfil the mission statement above it was necessary to form an incorporated body that would do more than just hold the annual Queensland Servant Leadership Forum. Hence, Queensland Servant Leadership Inc. was formed. The aim of QSL Inc. in the coming years is to provide a range of leadership development activities for youth, including the annual Queensland Servant Leadership Forum on faith and values, Servant Youth In Action – regular community service projects and Forum Family Gatherings – monthly gatherings to further discuss faith and values as well as leadership.

The purpose of the Forum is to inspire and equip young people to become leaders who make a difference because of their personal commitment to serve others.
